Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Tarboro Pawn is a North Carolina–licensed pawn dealer operating at a physical location in Tarboro, NC. This website (www.tarboropawn.com, the “Site”) is owned and operated by Tarboro Pawn (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Online appraisal requests

When you submit an item for online appraisal, you provide photos and a description of the item. Submission of an appraisal request is not an offer to buy or pawn. Any offer we make is conditional upon physical inspection of the item at our shop and matches the description and photos you submitted.

Conditional offers expire 72 hours after we send them unless extended in writing. Submitting a request requires that you are the lawful owner of the item and over 18 years of age.

3. Pawn loan and purchase terms

Final pawn loan and purchase terms are governed by the pawn ticket and/or bill of sale you sign in person at the shop, in compliance with North Carolina pawnbroker law (N.C.G.S. Chapter 91A). The pawn ticket and bill of sale are the controlling documents — this Site provides convenience tools only.

4. Online sales (storefront)

Items listed in our online storefront are real items in our physical inventory. Items may sell in-store at any time and disappear from the storefront without notice. All online payments are processed by Square; we do not store your payment card details. All online purchases are pickup-only at our Tarboro location during Phase 1 of the Site (calculated shipping is planned for a later release).

5. Identification and verification

At the time of pickup, NC law and our internal compliance program require that you present a valid government-issued photo ID. If you upload an ID image through this Site, we encrypt it at rest and access it only at the time of pickup.

6. Acceptable use

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by North Carolina law, Tarboro Pawn's liability arising from your use of the Site is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount of any pending transaction. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts of Edgecombe County, NC.
